Vikas Yadav's statement partly recorded due to poor health
New Delhi, May 9 (UNI) Additional sessions Judge Ravinder Kaur today partly recorded the statement of Vikas Yadav, son of politician D P Yadav and prime accused in the Nitish Katara murder case, as he complained of a headache and requested a medical examination.
The court asked Vikas 10 questions related to the investigation.
Vikas requested the court for a medical examination and referred to AIIMS reports that suggested him to undergo at least 8-10 medical tests.
According to the prosecution, Nitish Katara and Bharti Yadav's close friendship was disapproved by Vikas and this prompted him and his co-accused cousin Vishal to allegedly kidnap and murder Nitish during a marriage on February 17, 2002.
The court granted last chance to Vikas and fixed May 14 as the next date of hearing.
On May 7, Vikas Yadav, denied all charges against him and submitted before the court that he had been falsely implicated in this case and that the police took his signature on blank paper.
The trial court has started hearing the case on a day-to-day basis after the Delhi High Court directed it to complete the trial by May 31.
