VDC SPO shoots himself to death in Kathua

JAMMU, May 9 (UNI) A Special Police Officer (SPO) allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself with his service weapon at Roulka picket in Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir, official sources today said.

SPO Anchal Singh, son of Devia of village Roulka in Bani Tehsil shot himself to death by his service .303 rifle on duty yesterday, sources said. He was attached to the Village Defence Committee at Roulka picket, sources informed.

As per preliminary investigations, it was revealed that the SPO was distress because of some family problem. Police have, however, initiated inquiry into the case, sources informed.
