New Delhi, May 9 (UNI) Taking note of the attacks on the media office resulting in the killing of two people by the 'supporters' of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi's son at Madurai, Janata Party President Subramanian Swamy today said the state cannot be held ransom to 'intra-family disputes' to share the spoils of office.

Dr Swamy, in a statement, said that two journalists were killed in the attack on a media office by the supporters of M K Azhagiri which was utterly shocking and reflected the prevailing lawlessness in the state. "The Chief Minister functions like 'Dhritarashtra' of Mahabharata turning his eyes blind to the atrocities of his sons," Dr Swamy said.

Dr Swamy, himself a former Union Law Minister, urged Home Minister Shivraj Patil to come out with a white paper on violence in Tamil Nadu since 2004 in Parliament to enable it to take a decision if application of Article 356 is appropriate in the state to restore it back to normalcy.
