Senior Cong MLA refutes reports of disrespecting Sonia
Hyderabad, May 9 (UNI) Refuting reports that he had disrespected the Government and the Congress high command, senior party leader P Janardhana Reddy, MLA, today said he had high regards for Congress President Sonia Gandhi and AICC General Secretary in-charge of Andhra Pradesh affairs Digvijay Singh.
Addressing a press conference here, he said, ''my intention is to strengthen the party and come to power under the leadership of Ms Gandhi in 2009 elections. I am ready to give up my life for the party and Ms Gandhi.'' He made these comments when a reporter brought to his notice some leaders' remarks on his recent statements on the party affairs and the Government, indicating disrespect to the Government and party high command.
Mr Reddy said he had always worked for the party and wanted to take everyone into confidence to strengthen the party. He was sidelined in the party and was not invited to party meetings to express his views. He had always talked on issues and not against any leaders in the party, he added.
Regarding the suspension of some party MLAs for allegedly working against the party interests in the recently-concluded MLC elections, he said the party should take similar action against all leaders who worked against it.
