RJD burns Sheila Dikshit's effigy for anti-UP, Bihar remarks

Varanasi, May 9 (UNI) Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) workers here today burnt the effigy of Delhi chief minister Sheila Dikshit for her reported remarks against migrants from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar flooding the national capital.

The RJD activists led by Iqbal Rayan raised anti-Sheila Dikshit slogans and burnt an effigy of the Delhi CM at Benia Bag crosing.

They also demanded an unconditional apology from her and threatened intensifying their movement, if she failed to do so.

''In the past election in Delhi, she solicited votes from migrants of UP and Bihar terming herself as the daughter of UP...now she is speaking against those very people, who are contributing to prosperity of the national capital,'' Mr Rayan alleged.

Ms Dikshit had earlier in the day blamed growing population of migrants from UP and Bihar for problems in Delhi, which drew sharp criticism from BJP leaders including Vijay Kumar Malhotra and Kirti Azad.
