Revenue official arrested for demanding graft

Solan, May 9 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau officials have arrested a state revenue official in Solan district of the state for accepting a bribe of Rs 1,000, official sources today said.

Patwari Hem Chand was arrested in Sabathu area of the district for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 1,000 from a villager Roop Lal for handing over documents of his land.

The sources said Roop Lal informed the Bureau who laid a trap and caught the revenue official accepting the bribe red handed.

A case has been registered and investigations are on, the sources added.
