Rain respite to parts of Kolkata

Kolkata, May 9 (UNI) With a few spells of rain at some parts of city this morning, the mercury has dipped to some extent bringing the much-needed relief to people here.

Meteorological office sources said, maximum temperature was about 33 degree Celsius with four degree deviation and minimum 25 degree Celsius with one degree deviation.

Humidity stood at maximum 95 per cent and minimum 65 per cent.

During the past 24 hours, average rainfall recorded was 18.3 mm.

South Kolkata got the much-needed respite from scorching heat as there was heavy rain for sometime whereas other parts remained dry.

Sources said sky will remain cloudy with possibility of some rain and thundershower in the city and in its suburbs.
