Pranab Mukherjee lauds promoters of ebangla.in

New Delhi, May 9 (UNI) External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee today lauded the efforts of 'Sanbad Matamat' and 'Global Watch', the joint promoters of the first Bengali website at a function organised here today.

Speaking at the function Mr Mukherjee said, ''This is a great effort of bringing all Bengalis across the globe under one roof.

It would promote the talented Bengalis from various parts of the world, besides providing information of their activities and achievements.

He said the site www.ebangla.in, is being launched on a very auspicious day when we are celebrating the 146th birth anniversary of great nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore.

''Even Bengalis do not know what Tagore has given to them.'' The meeting was attended by a number of parliamentarians which includes Abani roy (RSP), Subroto Bose (Congress), Pradeep Bhattacharjee (Congress), Karnendu Bhattacharjee (Congress) and a host of other dignitaries.
