Over 400 officials facing criminal cases in CIL subsidiaries

New Delhi, May 9 (UNI) As many as 411 officials of the subsidiary companies of Coal India Limited (CIL) were facing criminal cases following CBI investigations as on March 31, the Lok Sabha was informed today.

As many as 54 such officials were suspended, Minister of State for Coal Dasari Narayana Rao said in a written reply.

X X X POLIO: The government has formulated a scheme for providing Rs 10,000 to every polio-affected child for the treatment of the disease as well as for providing artificial limbs to them.

Under the scheme of corrective surgery and rehabilitation, exisitng Polio-affected children in the 3-18 years age group will be covered, Minister of State for Health Panabaka Lakshmi said.

X X X INTERNET: Rs 2.5 crore has been release as grant-in-aid to Software Technology Parks of India as a first instalment for setting up of internet exchanges at Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Lucknow and Mohali, Minister of State for Information Technology Shakeel Ahmad said.

X X X PMO: The public wing of the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) received on an average about 6,000 petitions a month during 2004-06.

The petitions related mainly to complaints against public servants, service related grievances, unemployment, law and order, financial assistance and property dispute, Minister of State for Public Grievances Suresh Pachouri said.
