Chennai, May 9 (UNI) The Tamil Nadu Union of Journalists (TUJ) and Chennai Press Club today condemned the violence in Madurai, in which two employees of a vernacular daily were killed allegedly by supporters of DMK chief M Karunanidhi's son M K Azhagiri, protesting the publication of a report based on a survey on the line of succession in the ruling DMK.

In a statement here, TUJ said if the survey was not satisfactory to the people concerned, they should have approached the court instead of violating the law.

Chennai Press Club said the culprits, involved in the violent incidents, should be arrested and punished immediately.

According to the survey, the Chief Minister's younger son and State Minister M K Stalin was way ahead of all others in popularity, while Mr Azhagiri was at the bottom of the list.
