Srinagar, May 9 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir government has directed Crime Branch of the state police to probe into issuance of fake licenses and route permits.

The government also decided that route permits of all those 407 Tata Mini Buses violating the fixed seat adjustment in their vehicles would be cancelled.

The probe order was issued by the Minister for Transport Hakim Mohammad Yaseen following complaints that some drivers are driving vehicles without proper licenses and route permits in the state.

He also directed the Traffic Police and Regional Transport Officer (RTO), Kashmir, for taking necessary steps to regulate the traffic system in a better way so that people especially employees and school children do not face problems.

He asked them to regulate the transport system smoothly in the capital summer capital in view of the re-opening of Civil Secretariat and other move offices.

He said some more mini bus stands and bus bases would be set up in the city to minimize traffic jams.

The Minister said that Flying Squads would be deployed on all the district routes to ensure proper checking of over loading and rash driving.

He directed for removing tape recorders from all types of vehicles, saying that the tape recorders are the main cause of traffic accidents.

Transport Minister said the vehicles belonging to outside state would be given a chance for regularizing their licenses for plying in the state during next 15 days after which action would be taken against violators.

He said fair for the newly identified routes would be rationalized and called for conducting a survey of the hungry routes in the state so that suitable measures are taken for safe plying of traffic.

For the purpose, he said committees of senior officers would be constituted to verify the fitness certificates, licenses and route permits of the vehicles.

He was informed that the RTO Kashmir has released Rs 45000 as fine from the traffic violators in Kashmir division in last three months and the drive is still going on.
