Heavy rains likely in Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep

Pune, May 9 (UNI) Heavy rains or thundershowers are likely to occur at most places in Kerala, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, and Lakshadweep.

Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at many places in Orissa and coastal Andhra Pradesh, and at a few places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Gangetic West Bengal, west Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal, Chattisgarh, Telangana, Rayalseema and coastal Karnataka.

Rain or thundershowers are also likely to occur at isolated places in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Jharkhand, Bihar, east Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Marathwada, Tamil Nadu and interior Karnataka. Mainly dry weather will prevail over Rajasthan, Gujarat, Konkan, Goa and Madhya Maharashtra.

Heat wave conditions prevailed in some parts of Rajasthan. Day temperatures were appreciably above normal Assam, Meghalaya, north Rajasthan, coastal Tamil Nadu, and in some parts of Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Jammu and Kashmir and north coastal Karnataka. Day temperatures were above normal in south Rajasthan and interior Tamil Nadu, in some parts of Saurashtra, Konkan, Goa and Marathwada.

Day temperatures were appreciably to markedly below normal in Orissa, Jharkhand, Bihar, east Uttar Pradesh and in some parts of Gangetic West Bengal and Chattisgarh. They were below normal in some parts of west Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Madhya Maharashtra. They were normal over the rest of the country.
