FLAME signs MoU with London Metropolitan University
Mumbai, May 9 (UNI) FLAME (Foundation For Liberal And Management Education) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with London Metropolitan University, UK.
This memorandum describes an intention to collaborate on educational projects between FLAME and London Metropolitan University.
Both institutions will encourage direct contact and co-operation between their academic staff, departments, institutes and other research centers subject to the provisions of this memorandum.
Areas of co-operation are envisaged initially to include the arts, humanities, leadership and management. Both universities have also agreed to commit resources, both human and financial, to develop the above activities and to seek external funding for the same.
Other areas for collaboration may be mutually identified in the future and cooperative projects related to them may be developed by both the parties in the spirit of institutional friendship and cultural, educational and scientific cooperation.
Talking to UNI today, FLAME Chairman Parag Shah said, ''We are delighted to have signed the MOU with one of the world's best Universities. It has widened the scope of our activities and has given us the global platform to launch and promote our mission and vision. We value the confidence placed in us and look forward to a fruitful collaboration in future.'' Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic), London Metropolitan University, UK, Dr Robert Aylett, while talking about the agreement said, ''We are very pleased with this arrangement. FLAME is promoting a new concept of Liberal Education, for the first time in India. This MoU will help us develop collaborative initiatives to promote creativity in leadership and management; undertake joint research projects, initiate joint projects in creative arts and develop different courses for the benefit of students in both countries.
''We also envisage an exchange of faculty members and students between the two Institutions. This sharing of knowledge and information would be mutually beneficial, further adding to our reputation as a premier Institution,'' he added.
