First War of Independence ceremony in Parliament

New Delhi, May 9 (UNI) President A P J Abdul Kalam and Prime Minster Manmohan Singh will address a function to be organised to commemmorate the 150th anniversary of the First War of Independence in the Central Hall of Parliament tomorrow.

According to an official release, eminent artistes Jagjit Singh, Shubha Mudgal, Gulzar will give a performance of their art during the function.

A documentary on the first war of Independence prepared by the Lok Sabha TV channel will also be shown on the occasion.

In the evening, a sound and light show will be organised at Major Dhyan Chand Stadium, the release said.
