Eight killed in road accident in J'khand

Jamtara, May 9 (UNI) At least eight people were killed and 23 injured when a bus carrying them fell from a bridge in Jamtara district today.

District Deputy Commissioner Sahjanand Sharma told UNI that the bus was en route to Dhanbad from Bhagalpur's Sahebganj.

All the eight died on the spot.

Sixteen of the injured were admitted to Sadar Hospital at Jamtara, while seven were rushed to Dhanbad in critical condition.

Mr Sharma said the accident occurred as the bus driver lost control over the vehicle.

The bus driver fled away from the spot, he said.
