Death toll rises to six in Starch factory blast
Belgaum, May 9 (UNI) The death toll in Friday's blast in a Gokak based Starch factory has risen to six with one more person succumbing to burn injuries in KLE Hospital last night.
The blast took place when a leaking gas cylinder burst and starch stock caught fire in Riddi Siddi Starch factory, about 70 km from here on May four.
One person died on the spot while 34 others were admitted to hospital with burn injuries.
Most of the victims were workers from outside the state and they were identified as Mr Sanju Holeppa Hullolli from Karnataka, Nanalal Gyman Khajaso from Udaypur Dist, Rajasthan, Mr Keshav Chanulal Yadav from Gopalganj-Bihar, Mr Dharmandra Veeramatrasingh Rajput from Uttar Pradesh, Mr Balram Velram Devilal Dhamura and Mr Jagadish Karadi from Karnataka.
