Srinagar, May 9 (UNI) Police will tomorrow file a charge-sheet against 27 people, including Peoples Political Party (PPP) chairman Hilal Ahmed War, in a lower court here for trying to take a bus to Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).

War along with 26 others were arrested soon after they had boarded the ''Goodwill Mission Coach'' to PoK on April 7, 2005, the day when Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi launched a cross-border bus service (Karavan-e-Aman - Caravan of Peace) between India and Pakistan from here.

War and others had applied for permission to travel on the first Srinagar-Muzaffarabad trans-Kashmir bus.

He had sent a list of 27 passengers to the Prime Minister, the authorities concerned and also released it to the media.

However, the authorities denied them the permission to travel on the first cross-border bus.

Despite the denial, War went ahead with his plan and tried to take a bus with 27 people on board to Muzaffarabad from the Tourist Reception Centre (TRC) here.

Police immediately swung into action and arrested 27 people, including War, and also seized the vehicle.

War had later stated that he was given the permission to travel in the bus to 'Aman Sethu (Peace Bridge)' near the Kaman Post on the Line of Control (LoC).

War had earlier tried to take a coach to PoK on February 17, 2004, a day after India and Pakistan announced to start a bus service between Srinagar and Muzaffarabad on April 7, 2005.

The charge-sheet would be filed in the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM), Srinagar.
