Chandigarh resident killed during marriage celebrations

Ludhiana, May 9 (UNI) A Chandigarh resident who was attending the marriage of a relative was killed when he was hit by a shot from a pistol fired by someone in the marriage party at a palace on Pakhowal road last night, police today said.

According to the police the incident took place when certain persons resorted to firing in the air to celebrate the marriage.

However one of the shots hit Hemant Rajpal, injuring him seriously.

He was rushed to the DMC hospital where he scummbed to his injuries this morning. The police has registered a case and investigating the matter.
