Canon targets revenues worth Rs 800cr by '08

New Delhi, May 9 (UNI) Digital products maker Canon India targets to double its revenues to Rs 800 crore by 2008, with its 24 new products priced between Rs 2,995 and Rs 5.25 lakh launched today.

''With the launch of these 24 products, we are exactly at the right track to jump with double figures from last year's Rs 400 crore. We are looking at a turnover of Rs 550 by this year's end,'' Canon India Vice President Alok Bharadwaj told reporters here.

The company will invest Rs 30-35 crore in brand building and other initiatives such as tying up with retail giants to promote its business.

It will set up exclusive showrooms in Delhi and Mumbai by the end of this year, followed by Kolkata and Bangalore next year.

''We also aim to double our customers to two million over the next two years,'' he added.

The company has already tied up with 13 retailers like Reliance, Future Group, Metro, Woolworths Tata and Hypercity and plans to partner with two more by 2007-end, and 25 by 2008.
