Canon India launches 24 new products

Mumbai, May 9 (UNI) Digital imaging major Canon India today announced the launch of 24 new products to widen its product portfolio in India.

Canon also made a series of announcements on the various strategies that would be adopted and undertaken by the Company and towards its plans to double its revenue to Rs 800 crore over the next two years.

Announcing the launch of the products, Canon India president and CEO Kensaku Konishi said, '' As we work towards doubling our revenue in India over the next two years, we are aggressively looking at doubling results in all aspects of our business.'' With the launch of new products by the Canon's Imaging Communication Products (ICP) and Consumer Systems Products (CSP) division, their product portfolio has expanded to 138 products.

The ICP division products include eight digital cameras, a compact photo printer and four digital video camcorders. The products under the CSP division include three inkjet printers, an all-in-one, three laser printers and four projectors.

''As part of our plans to expand retail operations in India, Canon plans to take the number of stores upto 600 by the end of 2007 and add 2000 resellers,'' said Mr Kensaku.

He added that the Company plans to open exclusive IXUS experience zones for its lifestyle range of digital cameras across the country.
