BJP legal cell seized of EC order on controversial CD

New Delhi, May 9 (UNI) Perplexed over the Election Commission's Order asking the BJP to publically condemn the contents of the controversial CD before May 15, the BJP today said the party's legal cell was seized of the matter.

BJP Parliamentary Party Spokesman Vijay Kumar Malhotra said it was wrong to lodge an FIR against BJP president Rajnath Singh when the party had disowned and distanced itself from the CD as soon as it was known that there was something wrong. The issue was with the party's legal cell, he remarked.

The EC reserved its right to take further action under 16 A of the Symbols Order till the investigations if the state and national leadership were involed in production, distribution of the controversial CD.
