Arrested IPS officers move court against media

Ahmedabad, May 9 (UNI) The three suspended IPS officers -- D G Vanzara, Rajkumar Pandian and M N Dineshkumar, arrested in connection with the fake encounter killing of Sohrabuddin Sheikh, have filed a petition against the print and electronic media before the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate.

The petition filed on May 5, alleges that the print and electronic media has given negative publicity to the three ever since their arrest, and is interfering in judicial proceedings by publishing and telecasting news related to the case despite the matter being sub judice.

The three have urged the CMM to issue directions to the media to publish news related only to the court proceedings, and not to publish speculative news.
