4 die, 4 injured in road mishaps
Jammu, May 9 (UNI) At least four people were killed and four others were injured in separate road accidents across the Jammu region during the last 24 hours, official sources said here today.
Police said two people were killed when a car, on its way from Doda to Jammu, skidded off the road and fell into a gorge at Raggi Nallah on the Jammu-Kishtwar road, this morning.
The deceased were identified as Sidarth Singh Charak resident of Bari Brahmana (Jammu) and Mangan Singh Barhey resident of Nepal.
The police said in another incident one Muhammad Farooq, son of Bashir Ahmed of Jad Reasi, died on the spot and another person Ghulam Nabi, son of Abdullah of Reasi, was injured when the scooter they were riding was hit by a tipper near Bardari, this morning.
The police has arrested the driver of the tipper and seized the vehicle. The injured scooterist was shifted to the GMC Jammu.
Meanwhile, three people were injured when a mini-bus, on way from Palma to Chingus, met with an accident at Kalidab. The mini-bus was carrying a marriage party when the accident occurred, the sources added.
One of the injured, identified as Kamal Kumar, later succumbed to his injuries at the GMC Jammu.
