Youth sentenced to life for killing cousin brother

Balasore, May 8 (UNI) A man was today handed down to a life imprisonment for killing his two-year-old cousin brother over a family dispute four years ago.

Additional Sessions Judge Pitambar Das of a local court here pronounced the jail term for Sudam Upadhaya (28) of Kuruda village under Soro police station in the child murder case that took place on September 9,2003.

Sudam had slit the throat of Soubhagya Upadhaya by a kitchen knife. .

The killer had committed the crime after inviting the victim to witness ''Ananta Narayan Brata puja''in his residence. He had earlier attempted twice to take the life of the child, who was the only son of his parents' three children.
