ULFA militant lynched by villagers
Guwahati, May 8 (UNI) An ULFA militant was lynched and another critically injured, when villagers attacked them at Sonari in Sivsagar district last night, police said today.
They said four ULFA activists had come to Jalas village, nine km from Sonari town, to extort money.
The villagers attacked them with sharp weapons, killing one of them on the spot. The injured was shifted to Assam Medical College and Hospital in Dibrugarh in a critical state.
However, two other militants managed to flee in the van they had come.
Two cases, one of murder and the other of extortion, have been registered at the Sonari police station.
