Temperatures dip in HP after light showers

Shimla, May 8 (UNI) Maximum and minimum temperatures across Himachal Pradesh dipped after receiving light showers at isolated places in the state today.

Both Sundernagar in Mandi district and Bhuntar in Kullu district recorded seven mm of rains, while Dharamshala in Kangra district received 9.4 mm of rain up till 1730 hrs.

Kalpa in Kinnuar district also recorded three mm of rains during the day, the met office said.

The maximum temperatures at Shimla town, which experienced light showers at around noon, hovered at 25.1 degree Celsius as against 25.2 degree Celsius recorded yesterday.

However, the maximum temperatures at Sundernagar, Bhuntar and Dharamshala dropped to 31.7, 26.4 and 27.5 degree Celsius respectively from yesterday's high of 34.8, 32.8 and 31.2 degree Celsius.

The maximum temperature at Kalpa also dropped by a degree to stand at 21.5 as compared to yesterday's 22.5 degrees, the met office said.

It said the minimum at Shimla also dropped by a degree to 14.7 degrees in comparison to 15.6 degree Celsius recorded yesterday.

The met office has predicted rain or thundershowers at isolated places in the state during the last 24 hrs.
