Kochi, May 8 (UNI) Ernakulam Chief Judicial Magistrate P D Sarangdharan today dismissed a CBI petition to call for the original workbook containing the chemical examination report in the Sister Abhaya case from the Thiruvananthapuram Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Court.

The Court observed that there was no bona fide on the part of the CBI and said it knew about the workbook earlier but had not taken any steps to get it. The Court also observed that the CBI can approach the higher courts for getting the copy of the workbook.

The case had been reopened following media reports that the chemical tests of vaginal swab and smear conducted on the body of the 21-year-old nun had been tampered with.

The nun's body was found in a well at the Pius Tenth Convent, Kottayam, on March 27, 1992.
