Schoolkids fall ill after mid-day meal at school

Jaipur, May 8 (UNI) At least 31 children of a government school fell ill today after having the customary mid-day meal in the school.

According to police, 31 students of Government Primary School of Banjara Basti under Ramganj police station complained of uneasiness after having their mid-day meal at around 1130 hrs in the school.

Many of the students had gone home after their school was over.

The students were taken to a hospital in Sethi Colony for treatment and were released after check up.

The police said lizard in the food may have caused poisoning, which effected the children.

However, food samples have been sent for laboratory testing, which will ascertain the exact cause. The police is looking into the matter.
