Kolkata, May 8(UNI) Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) has mandated mjunction services(formerly known as metaljunction), the country's largest eCommerce company, to implement Enterprise Procurement System(EPS) across eight of its plants and units to e-enable the procurement process.

Company sources today said in the first phase, EPS would be implemented in SAIL's Bokaro Steel, Durapur Steel, Alloys Steel and ISP Steel plants. Procurement systems of Visvesvariya Iron and Steel, Salem Steel, Raw Materials Division and Maharashtra Electrosmelt would be brought online through EPS in the second phase.

EPS takes care of all the processes for procurement in a secured on-line mode with compliance to CVC norms and has already been deployed at SAIL' Rourkela Steel Plant. Through EPS, suppiers from geographically remote areas can also easily participate in SAIL tenders.

The sources said mjunction had already been providing eSelling and eSourcing services to SAIL and now with fast roll out of EPS, SAIL would be able to further enhance its competititveness. All SAIL registered vendors would be able to receive information, submit quotiations, receive purchase orders regarding successfuly supply and payment information electronically, they said.
