Rs seven lakh looted from bank in Punjab

Jalandhar, May 8 (UNI) Six unidentified robbers, some of them armed looted Rs seven lakh from the Canara bank branch in Goraya town of the district this aftrenoon, police officials here stated.

The thieves wearing helments and with faces covered, forced the bank employees and customers into a room in the bank building.

Waiving pistols they ordered the cashier to open the safe and after stuffing the cash in bags, they escaped on motorcycles.

Senior police officials rushed to the spot and have launched a manhunt to nab the alleged culprits.
