Romesh Sharma sentenced to five years in FERA violation case
New Delhi, May 8 (UNI) A local court today sentenced underworld don Dawood Ibrahim's associate Romesh Sharma to five years rigorous imprisonment in a FERA violation case.
ACMM Kamini Lau also slapped a fine of Rs 61 lakh on the Dawood's pointman in Delhi.
According to the prosecution case, Sharma who was partner of M/s Next One shipped goods worth 35.5 million dollars and allegedly failed to secure the export value.
Charges were framed against Sharma, who is presently lodged in Tihar Central Jail, under the contravention of FERA on September 2001.
