Record arrival of wheat in Haryana

Chandigarh, May 8 (UNI) Record arrival of wheat and its procurement has been registered in the mandis of Haryana so far this season.

Over 31.27 lakh MTs of wheat had already arrived in the state mandis so far during this season as against the total arrival of 30.20 lakh MTs last year, Haryana Deputy Chief Minister Chander Mohan said today.

He said six government government agencies had procured 28.12 lakh MTs of wheat which was 90 per cent of the total arrival. During the last year procuring agencies had purchased 75 per cent of the total wheat arrival.

He said HAFED had procured 10.79 lakh MTs, Food and Supplies Department 71 lakh MTs of wheat, Food Corporation of India 3.07 lakh MTs, Agro Industries Corporation 2.78 lakh MTs and Haryana Warehousing Corporation 2.51 lakh MTs and Confed 2.23 lakh MTs.
