Punjab to go for major revamp of medical College: Sud
Hoshiarpur, May 8 (UNI) Punjab government was planning a major revamp of the the medical colleges in the state, Medical Education and Research Minister Tikshan Sud today said.
Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal had asked the Punjab State Planning Board to prepare a blue print for upgrading the existing infrastructure in the medical institutions, said Mr Sud who had recently visited Amritsar and Patiala to study the working of government medical institutions.
Under the new policy, the small piece of useless land under college possession would be sold to utilise the money for the development of that particular medical college.
He further said that the state government would also pursuade the Centre to set up in Punjab, one of the six propsed medical institutes to be set in the different parts of the country on the pattern of All India Medical Institute of Medical Sciences New Delhi.
