Prakash not to contest polls but will remain in politics
Mysore, May 8 (UNI) Senior Janata Dal(Secular) Leader and Karnataka Home Minister M P Prakash today clarified that he will not contest elections but will remain active in politics.
Speaking to newsmen here, Mr Prakash said though he would continue to be active in politics there was no change in his stand of not contesting elections.
The JD(S) State President said his party would contest the Ullal Assembly by-election but ruled out any alliance with any party.
When his attention was drawn to the demand by Lokayukta for more power to take action against erring legislators and IAS officials, Mr Prakash said the issue would be discussed in the next cabinet meeting.
Mr Prakash defended JD(S) Supremo and former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda writing letters to the government and ministers of both the coalition partners.

President
of
the
party,
he
(Mr
Gowda)
has
the
right
to
write
and
it
has
been
done
in
the
interest
of
the
state's
development.
There
is
nothing
wrong
in
it.''
