Police post security after desecration of Shivaji statue

Belgaum, May 8 (UNI) Police deployed additional forces to maintain peace in Kangrali Khurd village on the outskirts of the city after a statue of Shivaji was found desecrated by some miscreants today.

Superintendent of Police Hemant Nimbalkar who rushed to the village asked the people to maintain peace. The statue was later cleaned.

The SP told UNI that the situation was peaceful and an inquiry had been ordered. District BJP unit condemned this incident.
