No tax for bathing in Narmada: Chouhan

Khargone, MP, May 8 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan today assured that no tax would be imposed on devotees taking bath in the holy Narmada river.

''The proposed tax is inappropriate and no institute or body had the right to impose it. The government would not allow it at any level,'' said Mr Chouhan, while replying to a question by reporters regarding the decision of Hoshangabad municipality to impose tax.

The Hoshangabad municipality had recently decided to impose tax on devotees for taking bath in holy Narmada river.
