No nominations filed for Ullal bypoll on opening day

Mangalore, May 8 (UNI) No nomination papers were filed on the opening day for filing of nomination papers for the June two byelection to Ullal Assembly constituency near here.

The last day for the filing of nomination would be May 15.

Scrutiny would be held on May 16 and last date for the withdrawal was May 18. Counting of ballot would be on June 5.

The seat had fallen vacant due to the death of sitting Congress legislator U T Fareed.
