MIAL to employ AAI employees at CSIA

Mumbai, May 8: Mumbai International Airport Private Limited (MIAL) today made its first set of employment offers to employees of Airports Authority of India (AAI) at the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport (CSIA) here.

The offers were made to 358 employees, comprising 65 executives and 293 non-executives. The offers have been made with an objective of staffing key positions at CSIA and taking into account the past performance and qualifications of the AAI employees, a statement said here.

As per the terms of the Operations, Maintenance, Development Agreement (OMDA) signed with AAI, MIAL has to make offers of employment to a minimum of 60 per cent of the AAI employees at CSIA within three years of taking over operations of the airport.

MIAL managing director G V Sanjay Reddy said, ''This marks a significant step for MIAL in our endeavour to build an organisation that will take on the task of transforming CSIA into a world-class airport. MIAL wishes to usher in a result driven and performance-oriented work culture and evolve into an employer of choice.'' The AAI signed the shareholders agreement and OMDA for CSIA with the GVK-SA consortium on April 4, 2006.
