Mercury soars in AP even as rains give some relief

Hyderabad, May 8 (UNI) Mercury in Andhra Pradesh is soared with the highest maximum temperature of 43 degrees C recorded at Khammam and Ramagundam even as parts some of the state reciened rainfall.

A report from Vijayawada said the maximum temperature soared to 41.8 degrees C there, the highest this season. This was against the 39.2 Deg C recorded yesterday.

According to the weather office here, rainfall occurred over Coastal Andhra Pradesh, while weather remained dry in Telangana and Rayalaseema.

Ichapuram recorded highest rainfall of three cm followed by Tuni, Bobbili, Cheepurupalli and Palasa with two cm each.

The maximum temperature fell significantly at a few places in Rayalaseema and Telangana and changed little in Coastal Andhra Pradesh yesterday.

A Met official told UNI in Vijayawada that residents would experience another hot and humid day tomorrow as the temperature was likely to go up further.The minimum temperature was 28.4 Deg C.
