Maruti unveils Sedan SX4 in Chandigarh

Chandigarh, May 8 (UNI) With its eyes on the Punjab market, car major Maruti Udyog launched its SX4 Sedan, powered by the global M-series engine and built on a brand new platform, here today.

Chief General Manager (sales) Arun Malhotra, who unveiled the car, said, ''It has just made its debut in the Geneva Motor Show and will change all the rules of the game.'' The car, which is in three versions -- SX4 Vxi, SX4 Zxi and SX4 Zxi leather, is priced between Rs 6 to Rs 7.25 lakh and has a localisation level (indigenous components) of 79 per cent making it suitable for Indian conditions, especially in critical areas like suspension tuning, ground clearance, engine tuning and seat comfort.

The SX4 stands for Sport, RelaX and 4 meaning 4-seasons drive, he said adding the 4-valve per cylinder, 1.6 litre engine will make driving comfortable. The SX4 is the best one could get in the A3 segment, Mr Malhotra claimed.

The car with its latest M-series engine is Euro 4 and Euro 5 compliant and will be presently available in petrol version only as there are no plans for CNG versions, he said.

Though the car has been launched in Chandigarh it will be available all over Punjab, Mr Malhotra said while pointing out that the Punjab market was special for all auto dealers.
