LS adjourned on Gujarat fake encounter issue

New Delhi, May 8: The Gujarat fake police encounter issue rocked the Lok Sabha for the second day today with Congress and Left party members raising an uproar and Samajwadi Party(SP) members trooping into the well, leading to the adjournment of the House till 1200 hrs.

As soon as the House assembled at 1100 hrs to take up the Question Hour, Congress members led by Madhusudan Mistry got up on their feet and received an instant support from Mohammad Saleem(CPI-M) and other Left party leaders who began shouting slogans against the BJP government of Gujarat.

But the SP members hightened the pitch of their protest on the issue and rushed into the well of House, shouting anti-Modi government slogans.

The agitating members of the Treasury Benches accused the Gujarat government of its collusion with the police officer who allegedly killed Sohrabuddin and his wife Kauser Bi ''in the most inhuman and heinous way''.

They were countered by BJP members who also got up on their feet repeating earlier allegation that those who had already stained their hands with blood of the innocent in the Nandigram episode should first search their souls before hurling accusations on others.

The repeated pleas of Speaker Somnath Chatterjee for order in the House failed to cut ice with the members of both sides who virtually drowned the House in a din.

Viewing the adamant attitude of the irate members, the Speaker adjourned the House till 1200 hrs.

As soon as the House reassembled at 1200 hrs, members from ruling as well as opposition parties trooped into the well, raising slogans. Nothing could be heard in the din. The Speaker adjourned the House till 1400 hrs.
