List of candidates for MUHS elections announced

Nasik, May 8 (UNI) Polling for various authority board elections of the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS), will be held on May 13, according to MUHS Vice-Chancellor Dr Mrudula Phadke.

The final list of candidates has been published by the University and elections have been held unopposed since the past, she said in a MUHS release here today.

After the last date of withdrawal of candidates, four out of the five Principals from the five faculties have been elected unopposed to the academic council. These include Dr P R Somvanshi (Dr Panjabrao Deshmukh Medical College, Amravati) - Modern Medicine Faculty; Dr Subhash Bhoyar (CSMSS Dentistry College, Aurangabad) - Dentistry Faculty; Dr Prakash Raghumath Adhav (VNH Ayurved College, Rahuri) - Ayurved and Vnani Faculty and Dr Kishor Malokar (Shree Janata Homeopathy College, Akola) - Homeopathy Faculty.

For the fifth post, four candidates - Dr Meena Ganapathy (Smt Bagul Tambat Nursing College, Pune), Dr Shashi Oberoi (Dr DY Patil Occupational Therapy College, Mumbai), Dr Rekha Ogle (Sinhgad Nursing College, Pune) and Dr Achimma Ranbir Singh (Tehmi Grat Nursing College, Pune), from other medicine faculty are in fray, informed Registrar and Election Officer Dr Madhukar Lahankar.

Lists of candidates for elections of other posts have also been published, the release added.
