Joint venture between Gujarat, Uganda for oil reservoirs

Gandhinagar, May 8 (UNI) Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi today proposed a joint venture between Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation (GSPC) and Uganda government for searching and drilling oil reservoirs near the origin of Nile river in Uganda.

Mr Modi's proposal was accepted by Internal Affairs Minister of Uganda Dr Ruhakana Rugunda, who was here with his six-member delegation.

Mr Modi briefed Dr Ruganda and his delegation about the Gujarat government's projects for medical tourism and 'medicity' to attract international community in the State for cheaper health care facilities.

Dr Ruganda praised the efforts put in by 17,000 Gujaratis in Uganda for the economical development of the nation.
