Jammu-Srinagar highway closed due to landslide

Jammu, May 8 (UNI) The 300-km-long Jammu-Srinagar National Highway today remained closed following the landslide on the road at Samarouli in Ramban district, official sources said here.

IGP Traffic Raza Ajaz told UNI that vehicular movement between two capital cities was suspended after the landslide took place on the highway due to heavy rainfall during intervening night.

''The work to clear the route is on full swing and we hope it will be through by this evening,'' he added.
