U'khnd: Institute Director attacked by his students

Dehradun, May 8: The director of a private institute was seriously injured after he was shot at by three of his students, here last night.

According to police sources, SP Singh, Director of Sardar Bhagwan Singh PG Institute, was shot by three of his students yesterday at Balawala here, when he was on an outing with his family. He received a bullet injury on the side of his chest.

The students identified as Nishant Tyagi, Mousham Sharma and Ranvijay were reportedly rusticated from the institute recently on disciplinary ground. Two of the accused were arrested by the police immediately, however, Ranvijay managed to slip away.

Police recovered two country made pistols and two catridges from them.

Mr Singh was immediately rushed to a local hospital where his condition was stated to be stable. The hunt is on for the third accused, police said.
