Female foeticide under 'case officer scheme': Home Minister
Jaipur, May 8 (UNI) Cases relating to female foeticide, liquor and land mafia will be taken up under the 'case officer scheme' for speedy trial and conviction, Rajasthan Home Minister Gulab Chand Kataria today said.
Home Minister Kataria was speaking at the passing out parade of the 42 batch of the Rajasthan Police Service personnel at the Rajasthan Police Academy here.
He said the 'case officer scheme' in which a single officer pursues the case till the end of the trial in a court has proved to be a success. In 1700 cases out of a total 3600 cases included under the scheme the police was able to get the accused convicted, he added.
The minister said the crime rate in the state showned a marked decline of 3.6 per cent and it occupies top position in the country regarding maintaing law and order.
Ms Renu Sharma was conferred the 'Sword of Honour'for best trainee of the batch of 34 weeks long training programme for her allround perforamce.
Director of the Accademy ML Latter briefed the activites of the accademy during the function.
