Patna, May 8 (UNI) CPI(ML) today renewed its demand to suspend incarcerated RJD MP Md Shahabuddin from Lok Sabha in the wake of his life imprisonment pronounced by a court.

The party also urged the CBI to complete the investigation in Chandrashekhar murder case.

CPI(ML)'s state unit secretary Nand Kishore Prasad said after conviction in the kidnapping of CPI(ML) leader Chotelal Gupta, Md Shahabuddins ''continuation in the Lower House is really shameful for the democratic system in the country''.

He said besides Chandrashekhar, there were dozens of CPI(ML) activists, who sacrificed their lives fighting against his ''tyranny'' in Siwan. The ''judgement is a victory against that (crime)''.

He also deplored that the NDA and UPA, the two successive governments at the Centre failed to ensure fair trial in the case.

He said the party workers would launch a state-wide agitation against the convict from tomorrow and will protest in front of Parliament on May 16 to press immediate suspension of jailed leader from parliament and fair trial in Chandrashekhar murder case.

Referring to Shahabuddin and Babulal Katara (involved in human traffiking case), he said Congress-RJD and BJP-JD(U) both the alliance had encouraged the nexus between criminals and politicians.

He also alleged that the Nitish government too was involved in promoting this nexus by patronising culprits of Bathe Bathani-Shankarbigha brutal massacre's main accused Barmeshwar singh, MP Prabhunath Singh and MLA Sunil Pandey.
