Mysore, May 8: Former Karnataka Minister H N Nanje Gowda today filed a private complaint against Infosys Chief Mentor N R Narayanamurthy in a City Court for showing disrespect to national anthem during President A P J Abdul Kalam's visit last month.

The case was filed under section three of the Prevention of Insults to National Honour Act 1971.

In the complaint filed before the First Additional Civil Judge (Senior Division) and Chief Judicial Magistrate G S Sangreshi, Mr Gowda termed Mr Narayanamurthy's act as unpardonable and a heinous crime.

He said that he opted to move the court following the failure by the police to act on a complaint lodged by him. He accused government and police of shielding the accused.

The Court has scheduled the case for recording Mr Gowda's statement and hearing of evidences on June two.
