Jammu, May 8 (UNI) Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) activists today took out a protest rally at Kachi Chawni Chowk against UPA government's decision to give preferential treatment to the youths of the valley while recruiting people in Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).

The party activists raised slogans against discriminatory policies of the UPA government. They also burnt the UPA government in effigy for insulting and humiliating the youth of Jammu and Ladakh.

Mr Pawan Khajuria, State President of BJYM, while addressing the protestors, criticised the UPA government for excluding the youth of Jammu and Ladakh regions of the state from the proposed 'special massive recruitment drive' of the Union Home Ministry's CRPF.

He said such a decision which is anti-youth, anti-Jammu and anti-Ladakh, is a clear message that the Congress-led UPA government at the Centre is determined to outrage the sensitivities of the people of Jammu and Ladakh.

''The assertion that only the people of Kashmir have suffered due to the militancy is just to mislead the people. Who is not aware that the people of areas like Poonch, Doda, Ramban, Bhaderwah, Kishtwar as well as other areas, including the hilly areas of Udhampur and Kathua districts have suffered the most on account of the ongoing secessionist violence and selective killings of members of the minority community.'' Mr Khajuria reminded the UPA government that the rate of unemployment in Jammu is over 69 per cent, while it is less than 30 per cent in Kashmir. So the youth of Jammu needs more jobs.

Declaring that the Yuva Morcha will not allow the UPA government to humiliate and discriminate the youth of Jammu and Ladakh, they asked the Union Government to abandon its policy of pleasing a particular region and members of a particular faith.
