BJP to field its own candidate in byelection for Ullal Assembly seat
Bangalore, May 8 (UNI) Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) would field its own candidate for the byelection to the Ullal Assembly seat scheduled for next month, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa said today.
Speaking to newsmen here, after holding a review meeting of various departments, he said that the party high command was likely to finalise the name of the candidate by this evening.
Mr Yediyurappa said that BJP would seek the co-operation of coalition partner JD(S) in fighting the election since BJP stood better chance.
The byelection was caused following death of Congress legislator U T Farid.
